EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE

The mission of Student Integration Services is to provide comprehensive educational and tactical support through collaborative efforts, ensuring compliance and addressing policy issues. We aim to support students, teachers, parents, administrators, superintendents, and support personnel across the four geographic Regions of the Los Angeles Unified School District. By embracing the five pillars of magnet schools—diversity, innovative curriculum, academic excellence, high-quality instructional systems, and family and community partnerships—we strive to ensure maximum success for our varied socio-economic and culturally diverse student population. 
 
Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) has a proud history of appreciating diversity, promoting equity and providing a rigorous instructional program.  As the second largest school district in the country, we have a moral obligation to develop quality, integrated educational centers.  Student Integration Services respects and appreciates the opportunity to create and support our integrated magnet settings.
LAUSD Magnet schools and centers continually receive State and Federal awards. Since 1986, more than eighty magnet schools/centers have been awarded National Blue Ribbon School status.  In April 2024, forty (49) of our magnet programs will be recognized by the national organization for magnet schools, Magnet Schools of America.  Nine programs will receive the highest honor and will be awarded the Magnet School of Excellence. Within the past seven years, we have increased the number of schools/centers and magnet seats. Currently, over 88,000 students attend one of our 333 magnet programs.  If LAUSD’s Magnet Program were its own district, it would rank as the 3rd largest school district in California, 15,000 students greater than the now 3rd largest Fresno Unified.
